Situated in Agra on the left bank of the Yamuna River one of most beautiful tomb and Indian historical place is Itmad-ud-daulah’s tomb. It is popular as a “draft” of the Taj Mahal and a perfect example of the Mughal architecture. In the world history, it is described as “Jewel box” and “Baby Taj”, it is also called as Mini-Taj and peaceful destination of India.Itmad-Ud-Daulah’sTomb is the first tomb in India built entirely in white marble. The whole structure gives the impact of an enlarged precious object. Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb is as interesting as the life of the person for whom it was built. It was commissioned by NurJahan, the wife of Jahangir for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, who had been given the Title of Itmad-Ud-Daulah.

It was built during 1622-28.Standing at the center of a high walled Charbagh laid out in the Persian style.The tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah has four gateways, southern gateways for Symmetry and the eastern gate is for entrance. Itmad-Ud-Daulah’sTomb is the first tomb that was built on a riverbank. Nur Jahan, the favorite queen of Jahagir designed this tomb.The marble tomb is designed like a silver box with stunning and delicate inlay work. The Tomb is famous for the glorious pietra dura decoration depicting cypresses, wine glasses and an amazing variety of geometrical arabesque.
